By 2018, demand was growing — and so was our ambition. To meet the needs of a fast-expanding community, we took a major step: securing bulk filament supply through a new partnership with Sunlu. Suddenly, more colours, more types, and more creativity became possible for everyone we served.
As more makers joined Western Australia’s 3D printing scene, one thing became clear: reliable, affordable filament was just as important as the printer itself. Customers weren’t just printing — they were experimenting, designing, learning, and innovating. And they needed the right materials to bring their ideas to life.
In 2018, we partnered with Sunlu, a global name in filament production. This gave us access to a wide variety of filament types — PLA, ABS, PETG, TPU and more — and a spectrum of vibrant colours that let creativity flow.
Even more importantly, we committed to buying in large volume. This meant better prices, faster availability, and the confidence that we could supply classrooms, workshops, and businesses consistently — without delays or stock gaps.
With this move, 3D Printing Perth became more than just a tech shop — we became a material hub that fuelled daily printing projects across the state.
